A way in OpenStreetMap represents an ordered list of nodes along with a set of tags. The result is a polyline or in the case when the first and last nodes are the same, we get a polygon.
Ways can represent several things in real life, like roads, building areas, fences, etc.
Since the contained nodes are ordered, ways have direction. One node can be part of any number of ways.
